New Hugging Face blog post: Announcing Project ProtoStar: Making Publicly Funded Science AI-Ready, with Sayeed Choudhury, Greg Tananbaum, Emma Scharfmann, Georgia Channing, Eunice Mercado-Lara, and Irene Solaiman. Project ProtoStar brings together universities, the Astera Institute, Hugging Face, and ORCA to make publicly funded datasets, models, and code easier to find and reuse for AI-driven research. It runs as a series of open challenges built on each partner institution’s released scientific resources, starting with Carnegie Mellon’s Climate Risk Intelligence Challenge (November 2–13), which asks teams to forecast urban climate indicators for 210 U.S. cities.
